Accelerate hits shallow gold at Fluffy

Accelerate Resources (ASX:AX8) has reported up to 8.44 grams per tonne gold intersection from its maiden drilling at the Fluffy prospect, part of its Balagundi Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

The company completed 35 aircore holes totalling 1,473m, marking the first drilling at Fluffy in more than 30 years. Results from the drill include 10m @ 1.05g/t gold (Au) from 24m in 26BGAC086, 3m @ 1.96g/t Au from 49m in 26BGAC061, 1m @ 8.44g/t Au from 37m in 26BGAC078, and 4m @ 1.13g/t Au from surface in 26BGAC082.

Drilling targeted the eastern margin of a porphyritic dolerite and cross-cutting structures identified through gradient array induced polarisation surveying.

The results occur in the same geological corridor as historical intersections including 45m @ 1.35g/t Au from 24m, 10m @ 1.16g/t Au from 10m, and 6m @ 1.85g/t Au from 30m.

CEO Luke Meter says the new results align with historical drilling and support the company’s interpretation of a broader gold-arsenic corridor along the eastern margin of the dolerite.

“Alteration, sulphides and quartz veining identified in drilling further support the presence of a significant hydrothermal gold system at Fluffy,” Meter says.

Accelerate also says it recorded widespread arsenic anomalism during the program, interpreting the arsenic, alteration, sulphides, and quartz veining as indicators of hydrothermal activity, with fresh rock at depth remaining largely untested.

Selected mineralised and altered samples will undergo further analysis to refine targets for reverse circulation or diamond drilling.

The Balagundi Project lies approximately 15km east of Kalgoorlie within the Norseman–Wiluna greenstone belt. Accelerate has entered a binding transaction with Maritana Minerals (ASX:MRT) that, upon completion, would increase its Balagundi landholding by around 80% to 62km².
