Money spent on research and development (R&D). Some of it is coming back.
Mining.com.au catches up with ABx Group (ASX:ABX) Managing Director and CEO Dr Mark Cooksey after the company received around $600,000 in R&D tax rebates relating to its 2025 work.
Mark breaks down where the money sits:
- ABx: Around $390,000 received this year, largely linked to rare earth activities
- ALCORE: Just over $200,000 received for its fluorine work
- Pilot plant: More than $4 million spent on ALCORE capital equipment
- Future rebates: Further claims are expected as those assets depreciate
- Grant: An Industry Growth Program application is under assessment
- Next: ABx expects a decision before the end of the year
The R&D spend has gone out.
Now some of it is finding its way back to the bank.
