White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) is set to begin a 4,000m drilling campaign at the Rae Copper Project in Nunavut, Canada.
Following the grant of the required permits, mobilisation is now underway.
The campaign will be conducted at the sediment-hosted Hulk copper prospect, targeting a large geophysical anomaly with dimensions that exceed 20km by 10km, and the Danvers deposit where the company will target extensions to the known high-grade mineralisation.
At Danvers, a historical resource estimate contains 4.16 million tonnes @ 2.96% copper, with historical drilling in the area returning grades up to 4.91% copper.
White Cliff, which has a market capitalisation of $32.22 million, is currently preparing and certifying the project airstrip for the Twin Otter and Dash 7 aircraft access, as well as establishing a 20-person camp.
The camp infrastructure, communication systems, fuel and drilling equipment have all been delivered to site.
Managing Director Troy Whittaker says mobilisation is nearing completion, with drilling expected to begin in the next five to seven days.
“A fully operational airstrip immediately adjacent to our projects and Yellowknife only 1.5 hours away by plane provides significant logistical advantages allowing for a fast and efficient start of field season, as well as building a solid foundation for future works,” Whittaker says.
“As with our work program to date, the team has once again shown full commitment to executing the project safely and efficiently.”
White Cliff Minerals is a mineral explorer with projects in Australia and Canada considered prospective for copper, gold, and silver.
