Western Star Resources (CSE:WSR) has mobilised field crews at the White Star Tungsten Project in Nevada, US, to begin the planned 2026 exploration program.
Initial activities will include a property-wide high-resolution unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) magnetic geophysical survey, as well as a systematic soil geochemistry survey.
The UAV magnetic survey results are expected over the coming weeks, with rock chip and soil sampling results to be submitted to the laboratory for certified assaying.
CEO Blake Morgan says White Star sits in the same skarn setting as the Rowland Project, largely under-explored.
“Running an integrated drone magnetic survey and a focused soil and rock chip program across the White Star workings is the fastest path to defining drill targets and matching what we have already done at Rowland,” Morgan says.
Western Star expects to receive preliminary processed geophysical products from the contractor over the coming weeks. The combined White Star and Rowland datasets aim to support a single, district-scale geological model spanning the consolidated Jarbidge-Charleston tungsten footprint.
In May, the company acquired White Star via paying US$70,000 ($99,885) and issuing three million common shares to the vendors. Western Star also granted a 1% net smelter return royalty in respect of commercial production.
The White Star Project is located in the Charleston Mining District of Elko County, Nevada. Exploration has not been conducted on the property since the 1950s.
Historical tungsten production recorded at the Mission Cross Mine recorded 1,000 tonnes of ore assaying up to 1% tungsten oxide.
White Star sits within the same contact metamorphic tungsten-molybdenum skarn setting as the company’s Rowland Tungsten Project. Both projects cover more than 6km of prospective tungsten-bearing horizons.
