Western Mines Group (ASX:WMG) has been awarded two grants totalling $318,000 from the Government of Western Australia to continue drilling at its Mulga Tank Project.
Western Mines, which has a $30.78 million market capitalisation, says funds have been awarded as part of the state’s co-funded exploration drilling program, part of the Exploration Incentive Scheme.
Chairman Rex Turkington says funds will be used to drill another deep plus-1,500m diamond hole into the Mulga Tank Ultramafic Complex and undertake four reverse circulation holes north of the main body of the Mulga Tank Complex.
“The maximum $220,000 deep drilling award will be used to drill another exciting deep hole aimed at testing the significant MobileMT target at the base of the Mulga Tank Complex,” he says.
“The $98,000 universal drilling award will be used to drill four RC holes, as part of our first reverse circulation program to step out from the main complex and start to test the komatiite channels up the belt.”
It is the company’s belief the target of the deeper hole may represent a sulphide-enriched feeder vent for the overall intrusion.
Mulga Tank covers a 425km2 area and lies in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.
Western Mines Group is a battery metals-focused explorer with assets in major mineral belts of Western Australia. The company is primarily focused on discovering gold and nickel sulphide deposits.
