Victory Metals North Stanmore Heavy Rare Earth Project in Western Australia

Victory lands North Stanmore in Austrade prospectus

Victory Metals (ASX:VTM) has had its North Stanmore Heavy Rare Earth Project included in the Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus.

This initiative is administered by Austrade to promote domestic projects to international investors, financiers, and potential offtake partners. The prospectus aims to support secure, diversified critical minerals supply chains.

The 100%-owned project sits in the Cue region of Western Australia and hosts heavy rare earths dysprosium, terbium, and yttrium. These minerals are integral in defence, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.

Victory says North Stanmore can contribute to demand for independently sourced heavy rare earth products from the US, Japan, Europe, India, South Korea, and Vietnam.

The prospectus lists the project at Prefeasibility Study (PFS) stage, alongside Western Australian rare earths projects and facilities at Browns Range, Eneabba, and Yangibana, as well as the Lynas and Tronox processing operations.

Victory announced an updated mineral resource estimate for North Stanmore in August 2026, totalling 278.8 million tonnes at 483 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO) using a 300ppm TREO cut-off.

The resource includes 70.67 million tonnes (Mt) measured, 84.09Mt indicated, and 124.04Mt inferred. A ‘higher-grade’ domain holds 53.34Mt at 1,024ppm TREO, with heavy rare earth oxides making up 32.4% of the total.

The company notes the project does not depend on the complex high-temperature mineral cracking processes typically required by conventional rare earth deposits.

Natural weathering of a significant portion of the orebody created favourable mineralogy that supports production of a heavy rare earth-enriched concentrate using conventional beneficiation methods.

Victory has completed the PFS, established a maiden ore reserve, been granted a mining lease, and commissioned an operational pilot plant.

CEO Brendan Clark says the project offers a clear pathway to production.

“North Stanmore offers something particularly attractive in this environment,” Clark explains.

“We have a substantial heavy rare earth resource in Western Australia, an advanced development project, established regional infrastructure and a straightforward mining and processing pathway.”

Victory Metals is an Australian explorer advancing a portfolio of rare earth and gold projects across WA’s Mid-West region.
