Vertex Minerals (ASX:VTX) has announced rising gold production at the Reward Gold Mine, supported by higher grades and increased underground stoping.
In January 2026, Panel 1 of the 640-Mica Vein delivered 277 tonnes at 16.6 grams per tonne. Panel 2 was fired with Tele-Remote partially bogged and in early February has produced 48 tonnes at 37g/t and 233 tonnes at 7.6g/t.
Development work has been slower than planned due to poor ground conditions after dewatering, requiring extensive bolting, meshing, and grouting. Multiple mining areas have now been established.
The company is preparing to mine flatback panels in Decline 3 in February 2026, targeting 6,400 tonnes with grades up to 100g/t, though diluted grades will be lower due to bulk mining.
Supplemental feed will come from the 640-Mica Vein long hole stope and the Humpty Dumpty stope, alongside new headings in the Paxton seam.
The company notes that the ore sorter performed strongly in January, and a second remote loader is due for delivery this month.
Vertex also announced that January 2026 sales totalled $503,000, with additional gold in circuit and high-grade ore stockpiled.
Earlier this month, the company announced new operational leadership as they ramp up gold production at Reward.
Vertex Minerals is an exploration company, with a current focus on growing production at the Reward Underground Gold Mine in New South Wales.
