Unico Silver drilling

Unico unites ‘exceptional’ silver results at Joaquin

Unico Silver (ASX:USL) has uncovered “exceptional high-grade silver gold intercepts” from an ongoing drilling campaign at the Joaquin Project in Santa Cruz, Argentina.

Assays from the first 21 holes, spanning 3,587m, have been received from the La Morocha, La Negra SE, and La Morocha SE prospects.

Infill drilling at La Morocha returned highlights such as 42.4m @ 437 grams per tonne silver equivalent from 49.6m, including 1.85m @ 8,335g/t silver equivalent from 52.7m, defining an up dip projection of mineralisation.

Over at La Negra SE, Unico has extended mineralisation by a further 200m towards the southeast after hole JDD047-25 intercepted 34.7m @ 110g/t silver equivalent.

Other assays from the prospect featured 43m @ 256g/t silver equivalent from 75m, including 11m @ 714g/t silver equivalent from 97.5m; 9m @ 787g/t silver equivalent from 162m, including 4.4m @ 714g/t silver equivalent; and 34m @ 170g/t silver equivalent from 177m.

Open to the southeast and at depth, Unico has defined more than 725m of strike and 150m of vertical extent at the La Negra SE prospect.

Meanwhile, La Morocha SE returned intercepts including 20m @ 160g/t silver equivalent from 175m, including 4m @ 411g/t silver equivalent from 187m; 36m @ 130g/t silver equivalent from 127m, including 20.4m @ 179g/t silver equivalent from 138.3m; and 17m @ 200g/t silver equivalent from 215m.

The prospect extends for 400m strike and 175m vertical extent, ranging between 15-60m in true thickness.

Managing Director Todd Williams says infill drilling at La Morocha confirms that “bonanza-grade silver mineralisation – typical of that previously mined underground by Pan American Silver (NYSE:PAAS) – extends far closer to surface than previously understood”.

“Visible gold continues to be observed in several recent holes with assays pending, highlighting the robust scale and continuity of this emerging district-wide system,” Williams says.

“With multiple discoveries and shallow, high-grade intercepts now defined across the Joaquin district, Unico is rapidly advancing the company’s PLUS 150 and BEYOND 300 development and exploration growth strategies.”

Unico Silver is a silver and gold explorer offering the largest landholding in Santa Cruz, Argentina.
