Unico Silver (ASX:USL) has returned assays from ongoing drilling at the wholly owned Joaquin Project in Santa Cruz, Argentina.
Assays are from 31 drillholes across 4,782m with infill and extensional drilling at the La Negra SE prospect confirming broad, shallow zone of oxide silver-gold mineralisation over 850m strike and 175m vertical extent.
Results include 107m @ 165 grams per tonne silver equivalent from 18m, including 55.6m @ 245g/t silver equivalent from 67.9m; 74m @ 134g/t silver equivalent from 6m, including 35.6m @ 207g/t silver equivalent from 38.4m; and 81m @ 107g/t silver equivalent from 2m, including 15m @ 183g/t silver equivalent from 62m.
True thickness of mineralisation ranges from 15m to 75m, which the company says supports bulk open pit mining potential.
Managing Director Todd Williams says the infill drilling campaign has continued to deliver “wide, shallow zones of oxide silver-gold mineralisation with excellent continuity across the full 850m strike length”.
“These results confirm the scale and geometry required for conventional open-pit development and support our decision to move directly to a Prefeasibility Study mineral resource estimate,” Williams says.
“With infill drilling nearing completion, geotechnical and comminution programs already underway, and three key prospects – La Negra, La Negra SE, and La Morocha – advancing to indicated resource status, Joaquin is rapidly transitioning from exploration to development while remaining open to further growth.”
Unico has returned 91 holes across 14,594m of reported assays since beginning drilling in September 2025. The total program is expected to cover 30,000m.
