Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) is preparing to commence a 2,500m reverse circulation drilling program targeting geophysical anomalies at its Kuro manganese discovery in Western Australia.
The upcoming phase two program follows the completion of an induced polarisation (IP) survey across the greater Kuro region at the Christmas Creek Project in East Kimberley.
Using the main mineralised zone as a geophysical analogue, the survey identified multiple high-priority chargeability and conductivity anomalies, extending coverage beyond the initial discovery footprint.
Earthworks for access and drill pads have also been completed under the supervision of Traditional Owners.
In July, Trek validated IP as an effective targeting method after visual mineralisation was intersected in 43 of 51 holes against IP chargeability anomalies.
CEO Derek Marshall says the regional geophysical data provided the company with substantial anomalous target areas that warrant drill-testing.
“Encouragingly, many of these new chargeability and conductivity anomalies occur in a similar orientation to those that host the high-grade manganese defined to date at Kuro,” Marshall says.
He adds that phase two drilling will focus on defining the potential scale of the mineralised system and determining whether the anomalies are related to further manganese at depth across the broader area.
Progressing Christmas Creek prospects and regional drilling
In addition to Kuro, Trek recently completed a gradient array IP grid at the Leviathan prospect.
The company has also started a sub-audio magnetics survey at the Martin gold prospect — co-funded through the Western Australian Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) — and has ongoing drilling at the Coogan copper-gold prospect.

Furthermore, 17 holes for 1,894m of regional drilling were recently completed to test rare earth, gold, and copper-gold soil anomalies, with a regional fixed-wing magnetic and radiometric survey scheduled in the coming weeks.
Trek holds a 100% interest in the Christmas Creek Project, which comprises seven granted exploration licences and two applications, located 140km southwest of Halls Creek in Western Australia.
Trek Metals is a mineral explorer targeting critical battery metals, gold, and uranium, with a focus on frontier locations within tier-one mining jurisdictions in Australia.
