Toubani delivers ‘high-grade’ gold from Kobada infill

Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) has begun updating the mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its Kobada Gold Project in Mali after completing a 26,000m pre-production infill drilling program.

Hole KBRC26_157B returned 44m @ 3.12 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 164m, including 1m @ 33.4g/t Au. A separate interval returned 25m @ 2.06g/t Au from 213m.

Other results include 58m @ 1.22g/t Au from 96m, including 1m @ 10.7g/t Au and 3m @ 6.69g/t Au in KBRC26_157; 6m @ 3.78g/t Au from 222m and 17m @ 3.95g/t Au from 233m, including 1m @ 33.8g/t Au in KBRC26_155A; and 33m @ 1.7g/t Au from 147m in KBRC26_180A.

The reverse circulation drilling targeted the northern portion of the existing MRE, where additional data were required to better define mineralised structures and improve confidence in the resource model.

Toubani says the results also provide more information on mineralisation between 100m and 200m below surface. The company expects independent consultants to complete the resource update by the end of Q3 2026.

Managing Director Phil Russo says the latest assays will inform Toubani’s pre-production planning.

“This new batch of assays from pre-production infill drilling provide further proof of the robust, high-grade core at Kobada, adding valuable data as we commence updating the MRE ahead of finalising the ore reserves, pit design, and mining schedule,” Russo says.

“The consistency across the results from this campaign reaffirms the calibre of Kobada and provides us with confidence as we move through construction towards our objective of bringing West Africa’s next major gold asset into production.”

Toubani says it plans to update the ore reserve estimate and mine plan in Q4, ahead of its targeted start of mining in early 2027.

Two rigs have moved to the Gosso prospect after completing 108 holes for 19,138m at Foroko. The company is assessing both areas as potential sources of near-surface oxide feed for the Kobada processing plant.

Toubani has also begun aircore drilling along more than 50km of mineralised structures, starting at the Kobada South Extension.

Toubani Resources is developing the oxide-dominant Kobada Gold Project, which hosts 78 million tonnes @ 0.88g/t Au for 2.2 million ounces across 4.5km of strike. The project holds a mining permit valid until 30 July 2045 and an environmental permit covering the oxide development.
