Tennant to fly into more Bluebird East exploration

Tennant Minerals (ASX:TMS) will pursue more drilling at the Bluebird copper-gold discovery in the Northern Territory, after returning more ‘exceptional’ drilling results.

The $23.69 million market capitalisation company plans to test for continuity within the main Bluebird discovery, with aim being to extend and define ‘high-grade’ copper-gold mineralisation from near surface to over 400m depth and more than 800m strike length.

Tennant believes the potential tonnage and grade of this expanded footprint will be sufficient to support a stand-alone mining and processing operation at the discovery.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vincent Algar says the company is looking forward to launching the next drilling program aimed to define and extend the enlarged mineralised footprint, as well as define a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate to support a stand-alone mining and processing operation.

In conjunction with the follow-up program, Tennant reports a latest intersection from drillhole BBDD0045 extended the western ‘high-grade’ copper-gold zone at Bluebird.

The company reports hole BBDD0045 returned with 61.8m @ 2.3% copper, 0.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 149.2m. The intersection includes a ‘high-grade’ zone of 9.6% copper over 13.2m and gold grades of up to 14.7g/t gold.

Algar says: “Every hole we drill gives us more encouragement that Bluebird is an exceptional emerging gold discovery which will continue to grow with further exploration.”

Results are pending from 5 holes, which tested for Bluebird repeats along strike within the 1.5km gravity-ironstone target zone.

The Bluebird discovery is part of Tennant’s Barkly Project that lies 40km east of Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.

Tennant Minerals is a copper-gold explorer and developer focused on its key assets Barkly and Babbler Copper-Gold projects.

As of 31 December 2023, the company had $2.259 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
