Tennant testing Bluebird’s expanded footprint

Tennant Minerals (ASX:TMS) is planning to begin another phase of drilling at the Bluebird copper-gold discovery in the Northern Territory, Australia.

The $22.17 million market capitalisation company will be testing new priority targets within the expanded, 2.5km strike length, Bluebird-Perseverance mineralised corridor.

Drilling will also aim to extend the Bluebird discovery and define ‘high-grade’ copper-gold mineralisation from near surface to over 400m depth and more than 800m strike length, with the objective of defining a maiden mineral resource that will support a stand-alone mining and processing operation.

Chief Executive Officer Vincent Algar says: “The Tennant Creek Mineral Field, which historically produced more than 5.5 million ounces of gold and 700,000 tonnes of copper, is enjoying a resurgence of interest with multiple companies active in the area, primarily due to renewed investor interest in copper and gold and the high potential for new discoveries.

Our recent exceptional intersection of copper with gold in hole BBDD0045 of 61.8m @ 2.3% copper and 0.4g/t gold, has extended and confirmed the continuity of the high-grade massive copper sulphide zone at Bluebird.

A review of historical results at Perseverance has identified high-grade gold drilling intersections of up to 50g/t Au and 43.2g/t Au over 3m, and 42m of mineralised ironstone with grades of up to 8.5g/t Au. This has reinforced our confidence that the Perseverance-Bluebird corridor could host multiple high-grade copper and gold discoveries.”

Further drilling is also planned to delineate the shallower ‘high-grade’ zone at Bluebird, which includes a ‘bonanza’ intersection of 5m @ 38.6g/t Au and 6.1% Cu.

The outcomes of this drilling will be combined with metallurgical testwork results that are currently in progress, to produce a maiden mineral resource model for Bluebird.

Bluebird is part of Tennant’s wholly owned Barkly Project which lies 40km east of Tennant Creek.

Tennant Minerals is a copper-gold explorer and developer focused on its assets in Australia.

As of 31 December 2023, the company had $2.259 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
