Tempest testing validity of Remorse magnetite targets

Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) is in Q1 2025 planning to undertake further drilling and will undertake metallurgical testwork at the Remorse prospect to further test the validity of recent exploration targets.

Further works include the company also seeking approvals for environmental studies, as well as economics and Infrastructure studies throughout 2025.

Tempest today (3 December) reports a significant new ‘high-grade’ magnetite exploration target at the Remorse prospect, located within the company’s 100% owned Yalgoo Project, which has multiple world-class iron ore operations nearby.

The company says this is an “exciting development” following on from announcements that recently completed reverse circulation drilling at the Remorse target has identified the presence of thick, high-grade, magnetite-hosted iron in initial assays in multiple drill holes over several kilometres of strike length.

Tempest Minerals in October 2024 completed an exploration drilling program at the Remorse target. Although targeting base metal anomalism initially, the program intersected thick high-grade magnetite in the ‘footwall’ of the target geological sequence.

Drilling intercepted multiple magnetite units (up to six mapped at the surface) with the northern-most zone tested to date displaying the greatest economic potential with up to 27m true thickness and composite grades in excess of 30% Iron with maximum grades of up to 39% Iron.

As a result of the original drill program design targeting the sequence immediately above the main magnetite zone, only four drillholes to date have intersected this sequence. This is considered inadequate to generate a reportable resource estimate.

Tempest Minerals will be exhibiting at this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) event being held from 2-5 March in Toronto, Canada.

The annual award winning convention brings together up to 30,000 attendees from over 130 countries for its educational programming, networking events, as well as business and investment opportunities.
