Scandium Canada (TSX-V:SCD) CEO Guy Bourassa says the company has laid the groundwork in 2025 for the year ahead, while also positioning itself in the aluminium-scandium alloy value chain.
“The combination of a world-class asset such as the TG Zone at the Crater Lake Project, North America’s largest primary source of scandium, high value-added aluminum-scandium alloys, and strong strategic partnerships puts us in an enviable position to support the transition to lighter, higher-performance, and more sustainable materials,” Bourassa says.
In Scandium Canada’s annual review, the company reveals it has reviewed and improved transportation logistics and the potential location of a hydrometallurgical plant in the Schefferville area and an access road from the property.
This will be used for the completion of a Prefeasibility Study for Crater Lake.
Results from a completed 500kg metallurgical pilot test and a new mineral resource reinforce the technical credibility of the Crater Lake Project, as well as support the progress towards a potential Feasibility Study.
Concurrently, Scandium Canada established a new division dedicated to the commercialisation of an exclusive and patent-pending aluminium-scandium alloys.
Following discussions with the community of Kawawahikamach, the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach made a strategic investment in Scandium Canada. The investment demonstrates a relationship of trust and a shared commitment for the responsible development of the Crater Lake Project.
Crater Lake is located in Nunavik, Québec, and consists of 96 contiguous exclusive exploration rights over a 47km2 area.
