Reward Minerals (ASX:RWD) has confirmed and expanded the copper prospectivity at the Copper Lance Project in Newfoundland, Canada, with rock chip assays returning grades up to 29% copper at the Hinds Lake Spillway Prospect.
Soil sampling has also outlined new copper-gold anomalies along an 8km magnetic trend between Hinds Brook North and Conical Hill, significantly expanding the project’s pipeline of targets.
At Hinds Lake Spillway, assays included 28.9% copper, 15.41% copper, and 3.95% copper with associated silver, lead, and zinc, aligning with historic results up to 42% copper. Mineralisation suggests similarities to volcanic redbed copper deposits, though some samples may indicate proximity to a VMS system.
Soil sampling at Hinds Brook North outlined copper values up to 263 parts per million (ppm), while Conical Hill returned a sample of 618ppm copper, supported by a duplicate at 392ppm.
Reward notes that the nearby Triple Cone magnetic anomalies remain untested and are a top priority for the company.
CEO Lorry Hughes says that the results from the field program are encouraging for the Copper Lance project.
“Further work is required at the Hinds Lake Spillway prospect to refine exploration models and targeting criteria, particularly in relation to the numerous untested EM anomalies located to the north and northwest,” Hughes says.
“In addition, the magnetic anomalies southeast of the Hinds Brook North-to-Conical Hill trend appear to have never been explored and now expand our pipeline of new targets for first-pass exploration when field activities resume in the spring.”
Reward is preparing follow-up soil programs, geophysical surveys, and potential drill testing in the summer.
Reward Minerals is primarily a potash-focused exploration and development company, with additional projects in gold and base metals in Newfoundland, Canada.
