QMines (ASX:QML) has received drilling results that highlights the potential to grow the mine life at the Mt Chalmers Project in Queensland.
A maiden drilling program within the Develin Creek Project was conducted and results have confirmed the Scorpion deposit to be a shallow, “high-grade” copper and zinc deposit.
At Scorpion, results have returned up to 2.49% copper, 0.60 grams per tonne gold, 20g/t silver, and 2.77% zinc.
Executive Chairman Andrew Sparke says the results show Scorpion is likely to extend the mine life at the proposed Mt Chalmers copper operation.
“We look forward to completing the drilling program this year and providing an updated mineral resource estimate shortly thereafter,” Sparke says.
To date, 36 drillholes for 4,227m of reverse circulation drilling have been completed, with samples being delivered to ALS laboratories in Brisbane for assaying.
QMines intends to continue drilling while rig movements and site clearing has not been impacted by weather.
The Mt Chalmers and Develin Creek projects have a measured, indicated, and inferred resource containing 15.1 million tonnes at 1.3% copper-equivalent for 195,800 tonnes of copper-equivalent.
In August 223, the company acquired the remaining 49% interest of Develin Creek from Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC), and more recently, completed metallurgical testwork on the project’s mineralisation which showed “excellent” recoveries for copper and gold.
QMines is a copper and gold developer focused primarily on the Mt Chalmers and Develin Creek projects in Queensland.
