PTR Minerals (ASX:PTR) has completed its maiden resource drill program at the Rosewood prospect, part of the Muckanippie Titanium Project in South Australia, drilling 446 holes for a total of 9,388m.
The drill program extends over an area approximately 40km2 and includes the Rosewood East area, wholly owned by PTR, and the Rosewood West area, which is part of a joint venture between PTR (70%) and Narryer Metals (ASX:NYM) (30%).
Initial assay results from the first 17 drill holes have been received. Holes were drilled at 100m and 200m spacing along a 2.5km drill traverse in Rosewood East. Results have shown consistent high-grade heavy mineral mineralisation, over thick vertical intervals.
Highlights from the drilling include 31m @ 13.5% heavy minerals from 8m, including 10m @ 24.1% heavy minerals from 29m; 29m @ 13.8% heavy minerals from 7m, including 7m @ 29.7% heavy minerals from 29m; and 7m @ 14.2% heavy minerals from 7m, including 3m @ 18.0% heavy minerals from 10m.
Chief Executive Officer Peter Reid says that with drilling now complete, PTR is “well on track to announce our maiden JORC Mineral Resource during Q2 of calendar 2026”.
“The extent of the infill drilling together with the consistency of the mineralisation will likely allow us to report a resource up to indicated status at Rosewood East,” Reid says.
“We note the number of drill holes in the southern zone, across several widely spaced drill lines, which have reported HM grades of over 10% HM and vertical intercept thicknesses over an approximate 25-30 metres. This zone alone has high potential to deliver significant tonnages at high grades within the maiden resource estimate.”
Additional assay results will be provided in early 2026, with the results guiding a JORC Mineral Resource Estimate at the indicated level for Rosewood East and an inferred level for Rosewood West.
