Steven Turner has resigned as a non-executive director from Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT), the minnow advancing the Horden Lake Project in Québec.
Turner (pictured below) was previously Pivotal’s managing director during the period the junior exploration company was seeking approvals for projects in Spain, before serving as a non-executive director since September 2023.
He is retiring to focus on other business interests.
Pivotal Metals non-executive Chair Simon Gray has acknowledged Turner’s service, “his assistance in the smooth transition of responsibilities to our Managing Director Ivan Fairhall, and his contribution to the company following its strategic decision to focus on its Canadian assets”.

Following review of the current board skills matrix, Pivotal now recommends having four directors in the interests of reducing corporate overheads.
The move comes as Pivotal has uncovered more “wide zones and high grades” as it advances towards a resource update at its copper-dominant Horden Lake Project, as reported by Mining.com.au.
Pivotal plans to continue to broaden its search area associated with the Horden Lake deposit along the 3,200m contact zone, as well as other regional anomalies, to target new areas for resource growth on the project.
A shallow wide zone of copper and nickel mineralisation has already been intersected in the northern resource area, returning results including 39.7m @ 1.04% copper equivalent from 75.5m including 12.9m @ 2.25% from 98.1m in hole HN-24-119.
These new intercepts also contain ‘significant’ precious metals and expand the northern section of the open pit deposit area. Horden Lake is a copper-dominant copper-nickel-gold-PGM-cobalt project located 131km north-northwest of Matagami in Canada.
The project hosts an indicated and inferred mineral resource estimate of 28 million tonnes at 1.5% copper equivalent, as a result of over 52,464m of previous drilling on the property.
Pivotal has recently completed its maiden diamond drilling campaign of 34 holes totalling 7,097m. The drill program achieved its objectives of resource expansion, confirmation of significant precious metals content, and providing samples for metallurgical test work and ore characterisation studies.
Downhole electromagnetics results indicate that mineralisation continues well beyond the current drill tested limits providing further exploration potential.
The Horden Lake deposit extends in excess of 2,100m along strike, and has been intersected at its deepest point 540m deep/700m down-dip along the footwall contact zone.
The deposit occurs as remobilised concentrations of polymetallic sulphide accumulations along a contact zone between mafic intrusive and metasediment.
Local concentrations of copper and nickel sulphide and precious metals also frequently occur higher up within the mafic intrusion.
The wide distribution of the mineralised sulphide within the mafic intrusion and remobilised along the footwall contact is indicative of a large system.
