Odyssey’s journey leads to deep gold at Shackle

Odyssey Gold (ASX:ODY) reports first pass drilling at its new Shackle prospect has intersected gold mineralisation beneath historical workings.

The company completed three reverse circulation holes at Shackle, located 500m north-northwest of the Cable deposit at the Tuckanarra Gold Project in Western Australia.

All holes yielded results over 80m of strike length, including 3m @ 16.10 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 55m; 4m @ 5.30g/t Au from 31m and 3m @ 1.70g/t Au from 44m.

Executive Director Matt Syme says these results are ‘particularly encouraging’, as first pass drilling reinforces the opportunity to discover additional ‘high-grade’, shallow shoots across the Tuckanarra field.

“Discoveries such as Shackle, made through systematic testing of historical workings, could significantly enhance the initial years of production at the emerging Tuckanarra Project,” Syme says.

Meanwhile, infill and extensional drilling at the nearby Bollard deposit has confirmed shoot continuity beneath the historical pit. New results include 15m @ 3.90g/t Au from 102m, 6m @ 3.40g/t Au from 77m, and 9m @ 2.90g/t Au from 35m.

Odyssey notes the results extend ‘high-grade’ mineralisation in two drill holes at Bollard, as previously reported, which returned 5m @ 14.0g/t Au and 6m @ 9.60g/t Au, respectively.

Drilling has now confirmed continuity between these intersections along 140m of strike.

“At Bollard, results also continue to improve confidence in our geological model and mineral resource estimate, highlighting the potential for additional higher-grade zones within the broader Cable-Bollard-Highway corridor,” Syme says.

The Bollard deposit currently has indicated and inferred resources of 0.68 million tonnes (Mt) @ 2.10g/t Au for 46,000oz.

Meanwhile, the Tuckanarra Project as a whole holds indicated and inferred resource estimates of 6.3Mt @ 2.20g/t Au for 451,000oz across eight deposits.

Odyssey recently completed a stage one Scoping Study and is continuing resource growth drilling while advancing initial development for Tuckanarra.

The company is now preparing a revised mineral resource estimate incorporating the recent results for Bollard to support mining studies.

Odyssey Gold is a mineral explorer focused on the discovery of gold deposits in the Murchison Goldfields of Western Australia.
