OD6 Metals creates a ‘district play’ with Nevada expansion

OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) has completed a ‘transformational’ expansion to the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, US, with the addition of four new project areas and nine historical occurrences.

The company conducted a regional review of historical data and geology to strengthen its claims across the Quinn Project area.

OD6 Metals has staked 226 mining claims, expanding from its original 48 optioned claims to cover 4,670 acres in the project area.

The expansion includes the acquisition of the Blue Bell Project, the Bonanza Project, the El Cortez Project, and the Bruno Project.

Mining and exploration services company Rangefront Mining Services assisted OD6 Metals with staking the new mining claims in Nevada, which were originally filed in mid-May 2026.

OD6 Metals’ footprint now comprises 20 individual historical fluorspar occurrences across seven projects, including the Dress Circle and Horseshoe project areas.

Newly claimed Blue Bell is located 12km south of Horseshoe, hosting four fluorspar occurrences, including Blue Bell, Shannon Queen, Emerald, and Sunbeam.

Assays from Blue Bell have returned up to 88% calcium fluoride from an outcropping vein-breccia pipe mapped over 50m by 12m and potentially open in several directions.

Bonanza is located 7km east of the Mammoth Project, with three historical fluorspar occurrences recorded, including Valley View, Bonanza, and Liberty Bell.

At Valley View, the historical occurrence features a 15m-diameter breccia pipe containing fluorspar.

Union Carbide mapped a 200m by 25m breccia body and other pockets of ‘high-grade’ fluorspar at Bonanza.

El Cortez is located 12km southwest of Horseshoe, with the Cortez and Green Spar historical fluorspar occurrences, while Bruno is located 16km south-southwest of Horseshoe with the Bruno and Red Bluff historical fluorspar occurrences.

Managing Director Brett Hazelden says OD6 Metals has “successfully consolidated Quinn Fluorspar into a district play”, which the company believes represents the “most compelling emerging fluorspar project in North America”.

“We’ve already identified three targets with genuine scale that warrant drilling to resource status: Horseshoe, Mammoth, and Big Jim,” Hazelden says.

“What makes this story even more meaningful is the addition of other occurrences including Blue Bell and Bonanza — two close-proximity historic fluorspar deposits that show real scale potential.

“Together, these give us the ability to build a strong pipeline of exploration targets. The vision we’re working toward is a hub-and-spoke model — multiple feeds supplying a single processing facility at the Quinn Project.

“This approach has the potential to transform Quinn into something truly significant, and we’re excited about the path ahead.”

As reported by Mining.com.au earlier this month, OD6 Metals has exercised its option agreement to acquire the Quinn Fluorspar Project after completing technical, legal, and strategic due diligence.

OD6 Metals is an Australian exploration and development company focused on critical mineral projects, including rare earths, copper, and fluorspar.
