OD6 channel sampling returns ‘spectacular’ fluorspar grades

OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) has returned exceptional channel sampling results from the Horseshoe prospect at its Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, US.

The expanded program delivered ‘standout results’, including 50m at 63.9% calcium fluoride (CaF2) from surface at the southeast wall and 27m at 54.4% CaF2 at the north pit.

The northwest wall returned a combined 22m at 70.7% CaF2, including ‘higher-grade’ intervals of 9m at 74.9% CaF2, 8m at 71.2% CaF2, and 5m at 62.4% CaF2.

All 118 channel samples averaged 64.4% CaF2, with 84% of samples grading above 50% and averaging 70.7%. Channel sampling confirms mineralised widths of 60m, with previous drilling and open pit exposure indicating a tabular zone 15–30m thick.

“These channel sampling results represent another outstanding outcome for OD6 and further validate the scale, exceptional grade, width, and geological potential of the Horseshoe deposit,” Managing Director Brett Hazelden says.

“Standout results, including 22m at 70.7% CaF2 in the northwest wall and 50m at 63.9% CaF2 in the southeast wall, demonstrate both the scale and consistency of high-grade fluorspar mineralisation across significant widths from surface.”

Hazelden notes that Horseshoe is “not a typical narrow-vein Nevada fluorspar vein”, but a large ‘high-grade’ replacement zone suited to modern open pit mining techniques.

The mineralisation remains open up dip beneath the silicified cap and down dip beneath talus cover.

The Quinn Project is located approximately 220km north of Las Vegas and hosts multiple ‘high-grade’ fluorspar deposits, including Horseshoe, Mammoth, and Big Jim.

OD6 exercised its option to acquire the project on 9 June, subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting scheduled for 20 July.

Fluorspar is classified as a critical mineral in the US, which currently imports 100% of its supply. The mineral is essential in hydrofluoric acid production, semiconductor manufacturing, advanced battery technologies, uranium enrichment, and defence systems.
