Oceana Lithium (ASX:OCN) has outlined new lithium target zones at its Solonópole Lithium Project in Brazil following the final round of assays from reverse circulation (RC) drilling in the area.
The company reports that the last 9 RC assays from its recent shallow scout drilling campaign confirm new lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) targets for deeper drilling in un-weathered zones at the Tin Mine, Zilcar II, and Rolados zones of the project.
The results include anomalous lithium grades of up to 0.95% Li2O and tantalum grades of up to 380 parts per million (ppm) from seven drill holes.
The best results come from hole SOL-RC-002, which struck 1m @ 0.95% Li2O as well as a lithium-mineralised zone from 46m to 53m deep averaging 0.49% Li2O.

Meanwhile, the company has collected more than 8,300 soil samples from Solonópole, which it analysed for LCT pathfinders using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) tech. Of these, 1,908 samples have been analysed in a laboratory for lithium.
Oceana Senior Geologist James Abson says the scout drilling program hit anomalous lithium and tantalum in 5 of the 7 targets tested so far.

Oceana has redefined its regional geological map for the project based on the information collected from its various exploration campaigns to date.
As for the company’s Napperby Lithium Project in the Northern Territory, Oceana says it has recently completed a soil geochemistry infill sampling program in this area to better define and understand the lithium anomalies first highlighted from sampling back in 2022.
Oceana collected 107 sample points along 30km of sample lines as part of this program. Results are expected in late January or early February 2024.
