Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has received better-than-anticipated intersections from the fifth drillhole at The Wedge Project, located in Toronto, Canada.
CEO Patrick Cruickshank says the results are encouraging the team to expand the deposit’s footprint.
“(This year) 2026 will be filled with Wedge project activity, with borehole electric magnetic surveys, phase three of drilling, the Tribag, and west wedge drilling to test this volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) Cluster Trend,” Cruickshank comments.
“We expect our first assays to arrive this week and look forward to sharing the results.”
The program totalled 1,654m over seven holes, while five holes targeted copper mineralisation, the other two facilitated BHEM geophysical surveying.
Hole DDH-WD-2505 intersected between 158-198m at 40m of mineralised felsic volcanics, with mineralisation consisting of pyrite and chalcopyrite.
As previously reported by Mining.com.au, hole DDH-WD04 also intersected at 40m mineralisation, starting at 158m and finishing at 198m.
The company says the intersected units will assist in identifying potential zones for future exploration using 3D modelling of the deposit.
Exploration Vice President Gary Lohman says new drill locations have been identified, intending to continue the exploration of the copper zone, while avoiding the shear zone in the south.
The company has four VMS projects in the Bathurst Mining Camp district, known as Wedge, Nine Mile Brook, California, and Canoe Landing Lake.
Nine Mile Metals is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on discoveries in current projects.
