Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) has planned a proposed 1,500m of reverse circulation drilling at its wholly owned Mt Magnet Range Project in Western Australia, testing for the prospectivity of gold mineralisation in the region.
The company intends to begin drilling in mid-August after receiving all of the necessary approvals, testing the Wrangler and Defender prospect.
Both targets are hosted in different geological settings along a strike length of around 7km.
Drilling at Wrangler will test extensions historically found at the Brittania Well gold mine and into the tenure for banded iron formation and felsic porphyry.
Rock chip sampling historically returned 1 gram per tonne gold within quartz-tourmaline veining rock chips, along strike of the open pit for 170m.
South of the mine by 500-1,000m, Tempest will also conduct drilling at Defender to test for prospective sericite-altered felsic porphyry and the porphyry-granite contact.
The company believes historical scraping and pushing indicates that the prospect hosts gold mineralisation similarly found within the Mt Magnet area.
Tempest is currently conducting geochemical sampling at these prospects with results from historical grab samples expected in September 2025
