Monadelphous Group (ASX:MND) has received a notice of award to begin engineering construction at Rio Tinto’s (ASX:RIO) Brockman Syncline 1 iron ore asset located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The engineering company will receive a contract of $250 million to cover activities including fabrication and supply, detailed earthworks and concrete, structural, mechanical, piping and electrical and instrumentation works.
This pipeline of activities are associated with the construction of a new primary crusher and overland conveyor, as well as modifications to an existing plant.
Monadelphous Managing Director Zoran Bebic says the contract highlights the company’s relationship with Rio Tinto and its capability to deliver “large-scale construction projects”.
“We are looking forward to building on our long-standing relationship with Rio Tinto on this significant contract, extending our reputation for the safe and successful delivery of large multidisciplinary construction projects,” Bebic says.
