Mineral Commodities uncovers existence of two main linear magnetic trends over Du Punt Prospecting Right

Mineral Commodities (ASX:MRC) reports the presence of an extension of Western and Eastern Inland Strandlines following an airborne magnetic and radiometric (AMR) survey over the Du Punt Prospecting Right, south of the Tormin operation in South Africa.

The results, generated by a 564-line kilometres of high-resolution AMR survey, indicates the existence of two main linear magnetic trends, with the western linear trend reportedly being 13km long and the Eastern linear trend having an aggregate length of 8km.

The two magnetic trends also appear to be geologically aligned and extend the reported 2.12.7Mt Mineral Resources and the 21.8Mt maiden Ore Reserves of the Tormin Western and Eastern Strandlines.

Commenting on the extensions, Mineral Commodities Managing Director Jacob Deysel, said: “Aeromagnetic survey results and anomaly maps demonstrate the high prospectivity of De Punt, which appears to extend the Tormin Western and Eastern Strandline deposits to the south.

“We aim to report a maiden mineral resource estimate for De Punt by the end of 2022”

We aim to report a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for De Punt by the end of 2022.”

The company also notes that the recent AMR survey has also identified seven major drilling targets over strike of the Western and Eastern Strandlines extensions in De Punt, which cover a total land area of about 700 hectares.

In addition, the company has also completed surface topography mapping and has mobilised a drilling contractor to commence exploration drilling at De Punt, with the proposed exploration program consisting of 5,000m of aircore (AC) with a goal of delineating a JORC 2012 maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).

The De Punt prospecting right is located about 370km north of Cape Town in the Republic of South Africa and covers a total land area of 4,938 hectares, with the companies 50% owned South African subsidiary, Mineral Sands Resources, owning the prospecting right. The tenement is about 13.4km in length and aligns itself with the company’s strategic plan of targeting larger scale and diversified operations to increase production.

With the AMR survey over the De Punt tenement now complete, Mineral Commodities announces it remains focused on the upcoming AC exploration program.
