Meteoric effort sees Caldeira Project permitting ahead of schedule

Meteoric Resources (ASX:MEI) has completed the permitting process including the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) fieldwork three months ahead of schedule for the Caldeira Project.

An EIS report has been lodged with h the Minas Gerais State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development (SEMAD) in Minas Gerais for the proposed Caldeira projects rare earth processing facility covering the southern licenses of Soberbo, Capão do Mel, and Figuera.

The company says the environmental permitting remains on track for the issuance of the construction license (LI) within the two-year timeframe as afforded with the memorandum of understanding from the State Government of Minas Gerais.

In the coming months Meteoric expects to make a resource estimate update announcement regarding the Capão do Mel project, with details about a Scoping Study expected in late June 2024.

Now six months into a 24-month process the company is ahead of schedule and on track for a Q4 2025 issuance of the all-important construction license and mining access to the Soberbo, Capão do Mel and Figuera licenses.

The submission of the EIS is a crucial step towards Meteoric’s Caldeira Project achieving its goal of starting rare earth production in 2027.
