MB Gold discovers new ‘high grade’ zone at Twin Veins East

MB Gold (ASX:MBG) reports further positive assay results from its maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the Marble Bar Gold Project in Western Australia.

The company has discovered a new gold zone at the Twin Veins East prospect, located 500m east along strike from known ‘high grade’ shoots at Twin Veins.

Best results from the eastern zone include 2m @ 6.73 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 39m, including 1m @ 13.12g/t Au from 40m; 3m @ 2.31g/t Au from 82m; and 1m @ 6.03g/t Au from 76m.

MB Gold says the results demonstrate potential for additional shoots along the 1.5km gold-in-soil anomaly at Twin Veins, where mineralisation is hosted in quartz veining within mafic to felsic volcanoclastics.

CEO Logan Barber says the discovery of a new ‘high-grade’ zone at Twin Veins East is a ‘great’ addition to the prospect and highlights the potential of the area.

“In particular, a strong two metres at 6.73 grams per tonne gold from 39 metres, including a high-grade section of one metre at 13.12 grams per tonne gold, validate our geological model and systematic exploration approach as we test the areas along strike from Twin Veins and further afield to Douglas Find and Razorback,” Barber says.

Meanwhile, final assays from the Douglas Find prospect returned lower-grade intercepts across 12 wide-spaced holes, with a peak assay of 1m @ 2.16g/t Au.

MB Gold notes assays have now been reported for all phase one drillholes.

The company is now preparing for phase two drilling, which will test the Razorback prospect alongside extensional drilling at Twin Veins and Douglas Find.

An environmental impact study-supported induced polarisation survey is nearing completion. This will be combined with a recently completed light detection survey and ranging and an upcoming HyMap survey to progress targeting.

The Marble Bar Project spans 12km of geochemical anomalies within the Archean Pilbara Craton, located 150km from Port Hedland.

MB Gold is focused on gold exploration in WA’s Marble Bar region.
