Magmatic Resources (ASX:MAG) has reported gold intercepts from six prospects at its Weebo Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company completed 10 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 2,112m and 90 air core (AC) holes for 4,479m during its phase three drilling program in May and June.
RC drilling at Otto 2 returned 6m @ 1.96 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 137m, including 4m @ 2.74g/t Au, and 3m @ 3.67g/t Au from 180m, including 2m @ 4.92g/t Au.
Ockerburry 3 delivered 8m @ 1.52g/t Au from 144m, while Scone Stone returned 6m @ 3.4g/t Au from 54m, including 1m @ 13.9g/t Au, and 3m @ 2.52g/t Au from 38m.
AC drilling at West Gold and Wheel of Fortune delineated regional-scale gold-bearing structures, each over 700m in length.
“Phase 3 RC drilling has successfully intercepted bedrock gold-bearing lodes at Otto 2 and Ockerburry 3 prospects,” Managing Director David Richardson says.
“AC drilling at West Gold and Wheel of Fortune has further defined regional-scale supergene gold anomalies that have not been systematically tested for extensions and gold tenor at depth.”
At Otto 2, RC drilling confirmed several contiguous gold-bearing lodes beneath Permian sediment cover.
The intercepts are characterised by strongly sheared ultramafic schist with intermittent quartz veins. These veins contain up to 30% coarse pyrite and pyrrhotite.
The 5km-long Ockerburry corridor hosts four prospects in the same stratigraphic position as Northern Star Resources’ (ASX:NST) 2.5-million-ounce Thunderbox deposit, 24km south along the Ockerburry fault.
RC drilling at Ockerburry 3 intersected a gold-bearing bedrock lode hosted in felsic schist, with a chloritic schist footwall.
At Scone Stone, drilling confirmed continuity of supergene gold mineralisation overlying a silicified porphyritic felsic intrusive. Gold mineralisation is hosted by zones of quartz-chlorite-pyrite stockwork veining and fracturing.
AC drilling at West Gold confirmed three gold anomalies extending over 700m strike length each, providing a total potential strike length of more than 2,100m.
Wheel of Fortune comprises four northeast-striking surface gold and multi-element geochemical anomalies coinciding with structures interpreted from aeromagnetic data.
Magmatic plans to recommence drilling at Weebo in September and October, starting at the Otto 2 prospect.
