Legend Mining conducts DHTEM on singular drillhole at Octagonal prospect, WA

Mineral explorer Legend Mining (ASX:LEG) is conducting downhole transient electromagnetics (DHTEM) on diamond drillhole OCDD004 at the Octagonal prospect within its Rockford Project in Western Australia.

The $107.35 million market capitalisation company says drillhole OCDD004 provides an ‘excellent’ DHTEM platform as it has intersected a suite of mafic to ultramafic intrusives, including variably mineralised troctolite, olivine gabbronorite, and pyroxenite, with extensive carbonate digestion towards the basal contact.

Commenting on the exploration work, Legend Mining Executive Chairman Mark Wilson says: “Diamond hole 4 has intersected the right mineralised intrusive rocks and favourable host stratigraphy, both being marker characteristics for a Nova style nickel-copper orebody.

our technical team believe this hole will transpire to be the most informative drillhole at Octagonal to date”

Importantly, in this hole, there is an excellent correlation between the seismic data geology, and our technical team believe this hole will transpire to be the most informative drillhole at Octagonal to date.

It has certainly given us confidence that the seismic/AMT target in hole 5 could be the accumulation of nickel-copper sulphide we are seeking.”

Legend Mining is an ASX-listed exploration company focusing on the Rockford Nickel-Copper Project in the Fraser Range of Western Australia.

As of 30 June 2023, the company had $15.536 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report published on 18 July 2023.
