Krakatoa Resources Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia

Krakatoa extends antimony and gold at Zopkhito

Krakatoa Resources (ASX:KTA) reports further antimony and gold results from its second batch of assays at the Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia.

The company intersected 5.61m @ 3.31 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 4.28% antimony (Sb) from surface drill hole DD26ZOP006, including 3.89m @ 6.12% Sb. Peak individual samples returned 13.75g/t Au and 11.65% Sb.

Results confirm continuity of mineralisation across multiple zones from surface diamond drilling and underground core sampling. The surface drilling targeted Vein Six, historically recognised as one of the more mineralised of the 60-plus veins in the Zopkhito system.

Additional results include:

  • 1.29m @ 7.11g/t Au from surface drill hole DD26ZOP004
  • 1.91m @ 3.84g/t Au and 1.18% Sb, including 0.27m @ 8.26g/t Au and 7.49% Sb, from underground hole UG26ZOP012
  • 4.38m @ 3.54g/t Au, including 0.5m @ 13.75g/t Au and 2.85% Sb, from UG26ZOP015

Drilling also revealed a previously unrecorded gold-enriched vein in holes DD26ZOP001 and DD26ZOP004. The vein recorded a peak of 9.8g/t Au over 0.92m, interpreted as a plane enriched with gold.

CEO Mark Major says the assays continue to highlight the mineralisation at Zopkhito.

“The latest assays from our 2026 drilling program continue to highlight the antimony and gold mineralisation at Zopkhito, with a standout intercept from the surface drilling in Vein Six returning 5.61m @ 3.31g/t gold and 4.28% antimony, with higher grades within the interval,” Major remarks.

“Each phase of our exploration activity is designed to deliver a maiden JORC resource and confirm the potential of Zopkhito as a rare antimony project in Europe.”

The 2026 program aims to convert the current foreign resource estimate of 225,000 tonnes @ 11.6% Sb and 7.3 million tonnes @ 3.7g/t Au into a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate.

Surface diamond drilling continues to explore the shallow-dipping Vein Six system. The system strikes northeast-southwest and dips 20–30 degrees to the north-northwest. Underground sampling from Adit 118 evaluated Vein 61 and Vein 50, neither of which is included in the foreign estimate.

Metallurgical sampling has commenced, with optimisation test work and studies scheduled to begin in October. Surface and underground coring continues, with a third batch of core at the laboratory.
