Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX:KAL) is looking to delineate additional targets for shallow gold resource definition and development via aircore drilling at its Pinjin Gold Project in Western Australia.
Drilling began yesterday morning (4 April 2024) on the Wessex shallow gold target, with 4 holes completed.
The new drilling program is testing the extension on to Kalgoorlie Gold Mining’s ground of historically drilled, shallow gold mineralisation from Hawthorn Resources’ (ASX:HAW) adjacent mining lease. These areas sit beyond the Kirgella Gift and Providence targets, which were previously drilled and are the focus of resource modelling to define an initial resource.
Both the Wessex and Harbour Lights targets will be tested as part of the current drilling program.
On 3 April, the company announced it had defined numerous gold targets at Pinjin via geophysical reinterpretation and targeting.
At Harbour Lights, Kalgoorlie Gold says there is extensive gold mineralisation along strike on adjacent tenure. The target extends from the tenement boundary to 4.8km south.
Meanwhile, at Wessex, there are extensive gold intercepts up to the tenement boundary near the Anglo Saxon Gold Mine.
The Pinjin project sits about 150km east of the regional mining centre of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and covers a sizeable portion of the southern part of the Laverton Tectonic Zone.
Kalgoorlie Gold Mining is a gold explorer with a large portfolio of projects in Western Australia.
As of 31 December 2023, the company had about $1.48 million in cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest financial report.
