Kalamazoo Resources (ASX:KZR) confirms ‘consistent’ mineralisation at Mt Olympus based on the latest assay results from its recently completed resource definition drilling program.
The campaign culminates ahead of an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) targeted for Q4 2026 and a Prefeasibility Study (PFS) in Q1 2027.
As previously reported by Mining.com.au, the company completed its resource definition drilling program in June.
Assay results from seven additional holes demonstrate ‘consistent’ mineralisation within the conceptual Scoping Study pit shell, with one additional ‘high-grade’ intercept returning 31m @ 5.20 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 49m, including 15m @ 7.50g/t Au.
Executive Director Dr Ben Ackerman says Kalamazoo remains confident in the continuity of ‘high-grade’ mineralisation ahead of the updated MRE.
“The drilling continues to demonstrate excellent continuity of broad high-grade mineralisation within the planned open pit, providing increasing confidence in both the updated MRE and the PFS mine inventory,” Ackerman says.
Infill drilling has reduced drill spacing to approximately 20m by 20m across key areas of the deposit, supporting potential conversion of additional inferred mineral resources to the indicated category.
CEO Andrew McDougall says the results are consistent with field observations and reinforce confidence in Mt Olympus as a foundation asset.
“We are in a strong position ahead of the upcoming MRE update. The drill results today are consistent with what we have been seeing in the field,” McDougall says.
“These results continue to reinforce our confidence in Mt Olympus as the foundation of what we believe can become one of Western Australia’s next significant gold developments.”
Located 35km southeast of the Paraburdoo townsite and within the Nanjilgardy Fault Zone, the Ashburton Gold Project currently hosts a 1.44-million-ounce (Moz) gold resource across four deposits, with Mt Olympus contributing 1.07Moz @ 2.70g/t Au.
Kalamazoo has now commenced an underground resource growth drilling program at Mt Olympus, targeting extensions beneath and down plunge of the current Scoping Study pit.
The remaining assay results from the company’s resource definition program are expected over the coming weeks from Intertek in Adelaide.
