Impact, Kuniko joint venture hits breakthrough intercepts

Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) has returned ‘very high grade’ precious and base metals assays from two drill holes from the Silica Hill prospect, part of the company’s recently completed six-hole drill program at the Commonwealth Gold-Silver Project in New South Wales.

As previously reported by Mining.com.au, Assays confirm the previously reported mineralisation estimates and follow on from other ‘high grade’ massive sulphide mineralisation confirmed.

Key highlights from these results include a 0.5m massive sulphide vein returning 2.1% silver (20,603 grams per tonne), 27 g/t gold, with 1.5% lead and 3.3% zinc from 230m, which the company says represents a ‘very high grade’ polymetallic intercept. This is interpreted as a feeder-style structure within Silica Hill.

Other key intercepts include 84m @ 0.6g/t gold and 123g/t silver from 226m, including 3.4m @ 3.1g/t gold, 2,947g/t silver, 0.3% lead, and 0.6% zinc from 227.5m, and 21m @ 1.5g/t gold, 2.5g/t silver, 0.07% lead, and 0.14% zinc from 244m.

The drill program was funded by Kuniko (ASX:KNI) under the Earn-In and Joint Venture Agreement, which provides Kuniko with up to a 70% interest in the project.

Impact is planning a larger phase two drill program to commence in June 2026, targeting extensions and high-grade zones at depth.

Managing Director Mike Jones says that this is a “breakthrough result” for the Commonwealth Project.

“The new intercept is located below a fault which has cut off the near-surface mineralisation and, therefore, opened a large and exciting new area for drilling,” Jones says.

“The extremely high-grade massive sulphide gold and silver vein is similar to another lower-grade vein we previously intersected above the fault, and we believe these could be feeder veins for the narrower high-grade veins in the system.

“The more extensive parts of the Silica Hill system could well be hidden at depth, and we are looking forward to Kuniko’s follow-up drill program, which will start in June.”

Impact Minerals is a high-purity alumina, gold, and silver exploration company with assets in New South Wales and Western Australia.
