Haranga Resources (ASX:HAR) has launched a 4km reverse circulation drilling campaign at its Ibel South Gold Project in Senegal’s Kéniéba Inlier region.
Haranga has appointed Forages Technic-Eau (FTE Drilling) as a drilling contractor.
Phases one and two involved aircore drilling and surface geochemical work. This included termite mound sampling. A reverse circulation rig has been mobilised to site and phase three drilling is underway.
Field teams will drill on dual day and night shifts for about 25 calendar days to maximise efficiency. Assay results are expected to be released soon after.
Multiple holes contain mineralised greywacke. Previous drilling at Anomaly 3 produced 20 metres at 6 grams per tonne of gold from 12m, including 4m at 14.1 g/t of gold. It also returned 12m at 6.12 g/t of gold from 42m.
“This program marks an exciting new phase of growth at Ibel South as we transition from shallow AC drilling to RC drilling targeting high-grade down-dip extensions at TMS Anomaly 3,” Chairman Michael Davy says.
“With only 800 metres of a 5km anomalous corridor tested to date, we see significant potential to expand the system along strike and at depth… [and], with drilling nearing completion at Lincoln, Haranga is advancing two high-grade gold projects in parallel — and I look forward to reporting near-term results and milestones from both projects in due course.”
Davy has temporarily assumed an executive role since the March 2026 departure of Managing Director Peter Batten, who joined the company back in September 2023.
The board of directors has accepted Batten’s intention to resign and remain at the company until his contractual notice period ends later in the year.
“The board thanks Mr Batten for his leadership and contribution to the company and wishes him well in the future,” Haranga says.
“Davy will bring direct oversight during this active phase of exploration across the company’s Lincoln Gold Project and Ibel South Gold Project,” the company says.
The company secretary and country-specific chief operating officers will assist Davy throughout the leadership transition process. No disruptions are expected to operational activities and project workstreams.
Batten’s replacement will be chosen through a thorough recruitment process based on “experience and capability”.
Haranga Resources is a gold exploration and development company with assets in California’s Mother Lode Gold Belt and Senegal’s Kéniéba Inlier.
