Great Southern Mining (ASX:GSN) has begun an 18-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Amy Clarke discovery within its Duketon Gold Project in Western Australia.
The 2,300m program marks the first RC drilling at Amy Clarke, where previous air core campaigns defined gold mineralisation over a 4.7km strike. Drilling to date has rarely penetrated below 50m from surface.
Previous air core results include 17m @ 1.4 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 20m, including 1m @ 11.2g/t Au, and 8m @ 6.7g/t Au from 33m, including 4m @ 12.5g/t Au.
Amy Clarke sits approximately 12km south of Regis Resources’ (ASX:RRL) Garden Well processing facility and 3.5km directly south of Regis’ Erlistoun gold mine.
Managing Director Matthew Keane says the company made the decision to commence Amy Clarke drilling before completing Golden Boulder to expedite results for potential follow-up drilling.
“RC holes have been designed to step out along strike and at depth below zones of higher-grade mineralisation identified from air core drilling,” Keane adds.
Great Southern awaits assays for 16 holes totalling 3,089m drilled at the Mon Ami Gold Project, with results expected imminently.
The company also expects assays in the coming weeks for 38 holes totalling 4,726m completed at the northern 1.1km of the Golden Boulder discovery.
Diamond drilling is also underway at the Mt Dillon target within the Edinburgh Park Project in northern Queensland, funded and managed by G-Ex Resources, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gold Fields (NYSE:GFI).
Great Southern Mining is a Perth-based explorer advancing a portfolio of gold and base metals projects across Western Australia and Queensland.
