Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) welcomes the Australian Government’s decision to elevate antimony within its critical minerals strategy, as it sets out $1.2 billion in Critical Minerals Strategic Reserve for priority minerals for the country’s economic, energy, and national security future.
Managing Director Ron Heeks notes that the inclusion of antimony “provides clear validation of the strategic importance of the Hillgrove Project, a position we have consistently communicated to both State and Federal representatives since acquiring the project”.
“Australia benefits from having a rich supply of critical minerals with the resources and expertise to produce these minerals responsibly. The Strategic Reserve supports the strong investment into the Hillgrove Project and reinforces the importance of progressing final approvals efficiently as we move towards production in mid-2026.”
Larvotto is advancing the Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Mine in New South Wales towards production, with first production anticipated in mid-2026. The project is Australia’s largest antimony deposit and the company is positioning as a global supplier.
