Golden Deeps impresses with ‘exceptional’ copper-vanadium-lead intersections at Nosib

Golden Deeps (ASX: GED) has announced ‘exceptional’ and ‘high-grade’ copper-vanadium-lead-silver mineralisation following a diamond drilling campaign at the Nosib Prospect in Namibia.

The results, generated from RC and diamond drill campaigns, have reported ‘thick, high-grade and exceptional’ copper-vanadium-lead-silver zones of mineralisation including a standout hit of 53.52m @ 1.15% Cu, 0.62% V2O5, 3.49% Pb, 4.57g/t Ag from surface.

Current and previously reported assay results include:

  • Hole NSBDD002: 20.85m @ 2.0% Cu, 1.54% V2O5, 6% Pb, 7.7g/t Ag from 0m
    • Inc. 12.10m @ 3.2% Cu, 2.54% V2O5, 9.8% Pb, 8g/t Ag from 0m
    • Inc. 3.0m @ 6.3% Cu, 7.82% V2O5, 21.9% Pb, 6.4g/t Ag from 7.3m
  • Hole NSDBB003: 35.84m @ 0.45% Cu, 3.8g/t Ag from 71m
    • Inc. 22.71m @ 0.54% Cu, 4.6g/t Ag from 71m
    • Inc. 4.07m @ 1.13% Cu, 9.3g/t Ag from 89.03m
    • Inc. 0.40m @ 6.81% Cu, 41.6g/t Ag from 92.7m
  • Hole NSBDD007: 16.45m @ 0.46% Cu, 4.31g/t Ag from 94m
    • Inc. 1.19m @ 2% Cu, 28.2g/t Ag
  • Hole NSBDD008: 53.52m @ 1.15% Cu, 0.62% V2O5, 3.49% Pb, 4.57g/t Ag from surface
    • Inc. 25.74m @ 1.71% Cu, 1.17% V2O5, 6.57% Pb, 4.92g/t Ag from 2.26m
    • Inc. 11.74m @ 2.67% Cu, 1.42% V2O5, 9.21% Pb, 7.12g/t Ag from 2.26m
  • Hole NSBDD009: 25.84m @ 0.36% Cu, 2.33g/t Au from 7.16m
    • Inc. 4.18m @ 1.28% Cu, 6.65g/t Au

Speaking on the results, Golden Deeps CEO Jon Dugdale said: “The diamond drilling program at Nosib has been very successful. Significant, thick and high-grade, copper-vanadium-lead and silver mineralisation has been defined with RC and diamond drilling, extending from surface to over 50m vertical depth.

“Significant, thick and high-grade, copper-vanadium-lead and silver mineralisation has been defined with RC and diamond drilling”

The high-grade zone, from surface, has an ideal geometry for open-pit mining and the project will now be fast-tracked with a maiden resource estimate, open-pit optimization and metallurgical testing to be carried out prior to initial development and processing studies.

The concept here is to combine the outcomes of the test work on Nosib with the Abenab high-grade vanadium project studies to produce an integrated mining and processing plan for near-term production of high-value vanadium, copper, lead and zinc products to feed the ever-increasing demand for these metals for renewable energy battery industries.”

The company believes that these newly acquired results support further potential for open pit mining and maiden Mineral Resource Estimate studies to commence at the project.

The multi-element mineralised zone has now seen testing over 100m of strike and up to 50m vertical depth, with the zone remaining open to the northeast and southwest at surface.

Nosib is located 20km from the Abenab Project within the ‘world-class’ Otavi Mountain Land Copper District of Namibia. Abenab boasts an Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 2.80Mt @ 0.66% V2O5, 2.35% Pb, 0.94% Zn.

With drilling at Nosib complete, Golden Deeps reports that it will move forward with gravity test work and hydrometallurgical leach test work at Abenab in order to generate ‘high-grade’ vanadium-lead-copper concentrate.

Results from this test work program will be incorporated into an integrated mining and processing plan for the Nosib and Abenab ‘high-grade’ multi element project.
