Gold Coast conference puts Iltani in silver spotlight

Not your typical mining hub, the Gold Coast is growing in attraction for mining conferences, with the inaugural Gold Coast Gold Conference landing next week.

Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) is keen to tap into the Gold Coast’s large investor population at the event, which is taking place from 13-14 March at the QT Hotel in Surfers Paradise.

Managing Director Donald Garner tells Mining.com.au the Gold Coast is an area with a large number of high net worth investors and/or retirees with significant investable capital.

“We want to access the silver investor pool – get the message out there that Orient is Australia’s most exciting silver discovery and is on track to potentially becoming one of Australia’s largest silver deposits,” he says.

Iltani believes its Orient Silver-Lead-Zinc-Indium Project in Queensland has the potential to deliver a larger ore reserve than Silver Mines’ (ASX:SVL) Bowdens Project in NSW.

This follows the release of an exploration target for the company’s Orient East prospect of 25 to 35 million tonnes @ 77 to 95g/t silver equivalent.

The target includes a high-grade component of 12 to 18 million tonnes @ 110 to 130g/t silver equivalent.

This increases the total Orient exploration target to 99 to 135 million tonnes @ 61 to 73g/t silver equivalent, including a high-grade core of 32 to 42 million tonnes @ 110 to 124g/t silver equivalent.

Meanwhile, Silver Mines’ Bowdens Project – which is considered one of the largest undeveloped silver projects in Australia – hosts a resource of 179 million tonnes @ 58g/t silver equivalent and a reserve of 32.8 million tonnes @ 68g/t silver.

Garner told Mining.com.au in late February that Iltani is on track to deliver a reserve of greater tonnage and grade than Bowdens.

He will take the stage in session one on day two of the Gold Coast Gold Conference at 10.15am AEST.

Investors will gain insights into “Australia’s largest silver-indium project”, drilling completed and exploration targets defined so far and plans for an initial JORC-compliant resource in 2025.

The two-day event, being presented by Gold Events in association with Mining.com.au, will bring together speakers to educate the audience about precious metals and ASX-listed mining companies in the space.

Mining.com.au is an official media partner for the upcoming event.
