Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS) has extended gold mineralisation at depth at its British Hill Gold Project in Western Australia, returning 29m @ 3.91 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 220m.
The result came from hole 26BHRC0022, which also intersected 12m @ 2.05g/t Au from 252m and 8m @ 2.70g/t Au from 110m.
A second hole, 26BHRC0023, delivered multiple intersections including 14m @ 2.81g/t Au from 142m and 11m @ 2.48g/t Au from 215m.
The six-hole reverse circulation program comprised 1,940m and tested mineralisation both along strike and at depth. Shallower results included 26m @ 2.06g/t Au from 48m in 26BHRC0020 and 32m @ 1.42g/t Au from 32m in 26BHRC0019.
All reported intersections are downhole lengths rather than true widths.
Executive Chairman David Geraghty says the deeper results support further resource drilling at British Hill.
“The consistency of mineralisation across the recent drilling, together with the outstanding results returned from deeper portions of the system, provides strong encouragement for further resource growth,” Geraghty says.
Earlier this month, Forrestania reported an updated mineral resource estimate of 2.62 million tonnes (Mt) @ 1.50g/t Au for 126,290 ounces. This included 1.88Mt @ 1.43g/t Au for 86,080 indicated ounces and 40,210 inferred ounces.
The company says it plans further drilling alongside conceptual mining studies and metallurgical test work as it assesses development options for the deposit.
British Hill sits on granted mining lease M77/1256, about 75km south-southeast of Southern Cross. The deposit forms part of Forrestania’s pipeline of potential feed sources for its Lake Johnston plant, which is being refurbished as a regional gold processing hub.
Forrestania is an Australian gold explorer and developer building a portfolio of assets across the Southern Cross, Eastern Goldfields, and Forrestania regions of WA.
