First Au (ASX:FAU) has wrapped up the acquisition of the Riverina East Gold Project from Viking Mines (ASX:VKA).
The 255km² project comprises 11 separate mineral licences — two mining licences, four exploration licences, and five prospective licences — along with one exploration licence application.
Located approximately 50km west of Menzies in Western Australia, Riverina East sits north of Ora Banda Mining’s (ASX:OBM) Riverina underground gold mine. Riverina East hosts the First Hit gold mine, which has historically produced 30,000 ounces @ 7.7 grams per tonne gold, as well as the Bifrost mineralisation site.
First Au Executive Chairman Daniel Raihani says the acquisition is consistent with First Au’s ambition to become a geologically driven West Australian gold exploration and development company.
Viking Mines has shifted its primary focus to developing tungsten projects in Nevada, US, particularly through its flagship Linka Project.
