Falcon Metals Blue Moon Gold Project in Victoria

Falcon extends Blue Moon gold strike to 850m

Falcon Metals (ASX:FAL) has extended gold mineralisation at its Blue Moon Gold Project to more than 850m of strike, with ‘high-grade’ intercepts continuing to strengthen the Jasmine Zone to the north.

Recent drilling returned 0.3m @ 71.7 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 642.8m and 0.3m @ 98.3g/t Au from 653.3m in hole BMDD011W02. Meanwhile, BMDD007W07 intersected 1.6m @ 5.9g/t Au from 609.7m, including 0.7m at 10.9g/t Au.

The company has also extended the Lotus Zone to 750m of strike length after successfully intersecting the mineralised structure in hole BMDD011W05, which returned 0.7m at 1.1g/t Au from 842m.

Managing Director Tim Markwell says the results demonstrate the ‘scale and high-grade potential’ emerging at Blue Moon.

“The high-grade intercepts returned from the Jasmine Zone on the northernmost drill line to date confirm that this zone is strengthening as we step out to the north,” Markwell explains.

“The increasing mineralised strike extent over 850m across multiple mineralised structures reinforces our view that Blue Moon is developing into a significant new gold system within the broader Bendigo Goldfield.”

Drilling has now confirmed five distinct mineralised zones across the 850m strike: the Morning Glory Zone over 300m, the Magnolia Zone over 180m, the Jasmine Zone over 200m, the Lotus Zone over 750m, and the Dahlia Zone at depth.

The Blue Moon project sits on 100%-owned licence EL007839, located 25km west of Agnico Eagle Mines’ (NYSE:AEM) Fosterville Gold Mine.

The project targets the interpreted down-plunge northern extension of the Garden Gully anticline trend, which produced 5.2 million ounces @ 15g/t Au over an 8km strike length.

Three diamond rigs continue operating, with two rigs undertaking step-out drilling north along the Garden Gully trend.
