Canadian battery materials company Euro Manganese (ASX:EMN) reports it has published its inaugural 2022 Sustainability Report for the Chvaletice Manganese Project in the Czech Republic.
The outline of the report focuses on how the company is ‘leading the way’ for sustainable production of ‘high-purity’ manganese for the electric vehicle (EV) industry.
The report, which was filed on 23 December and lodged to the ASX on 27 December, is based on the material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues that are of importance to Euro Manganese, and also defines the company’s purpose, vision, and values.
In addition to the Sustainability Report, Euro Manganese reports it has also submitted the final Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the project to the Ministry of Environment in the Czech Republic.

The team has worked incredibly hard to ensure both the ESIA and the Sustainability Report are of the highest quality and include extensive consultation with local communities and other stakeholders who provide invaluable input to both documents.
The project embodies strict and very high environmental, health, safety and social standards, and is positive for the environment, local community and the Czech Republic.

The company says the ESIA builds on the preliminary ESIA which was reviewed by the Czech Ministry of Environment in 2020. Euro Manganese states the ESIA took outputs from both the preliminary ESIA and the Chvaletice Feasibility Study announced in July 2022, as inputs to the compilation of many environmental and social impact assessments including dispersion studies, acoustics studies and impact on human health studies.
Furthermore, the company also states it has engaged with and briefed the relevant authorities and stakeholders on the project details, with the feedback received being incorporated into the final ESIA submission.
Euro Manganese states it is ‘confident’ with the quality of the studies and claims it has met the criteria set out by the Czech regulation for a ‘successful’ ESIA.
The company expects the approval process will take about6 months.
Euro Manganese is a Canada-based battery materials company focused on producing ‘high-purity’ manganese for the EV industry and other high-technology applications.
The company is developing the Chvaletice Manganese tenement located about 90km east of Prague in the Czech Republic, which it claims will provide 20% of Europe’s projected demand for ‘high-purity’ manganese.
