Euro Manganese meets 99.9% manganese metal purity from Chvaletice demonstration plant

Euro Manganese (ASX:EMN) reports the first ‘high-purity’ electrolytic manganese metal (HPEMM) has met demonstration plant target specifications at 99.9% manganese (Mn) metal purity from its Chvaletice Project in the Czech Republic.

The company reports that ‘high-purity’ manganese sulphate (HPMSM) is now under the final production module. Euro Manganese states this will be sent for external laboratory testing in due course.

In addition, this follows after the company announced it has produced HPEMM from its demonstration plant at the project. Euro Manganese states that the plant enables the company to produce bulk samples for prospective customers’ testing and qualification.

Euro Manganese also states that the plant enables process optimisation and testing for final product development and serves as a testing and training facility.

Commenting on the production of the HPEMM, Euro Manganese President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Matthew James says: “Producing high-purity and electrolytic manganese metal, HPEMM, from our Demonstration Plant is a significant milestone and de-risks our process flow sheet.

“We are eager to provide customers with high-purity manganese from our Demonstration Plant so they can either get started on or continue with, their qualification process of our products”

I look forward to receiving confirmation that HPMSM produced is on-spec and completing the commissioning process. We are eager to provide customers with high-purity manganese from our Demonstration Plant so they can either get started on or continue with, their qualification process of our products.”

Euro Manganese states that the demonstration plant is expected to begin acceptance testing in late April. Additionally, once acceptance testing is successful, Euro Manganese will begin deliveries of plant HPEMM and/or HPMSM to customers.

The customer deliveries of Euro Manganese’s demonstration plant products are not expected to be required for the completion of offtake contracts.

Euro Manganese’s Chvaletice Project flowsheet is designed to produce HPMSM through HPEMM, which has multiple commercial advantages. The company states these advantages include that it guarantees the stability of HPMSM specification and provides optionality.

Euro Manganese is a dual-listed battery materials company, focused on producing ‘high-purity’ manganese for the electric vehicle industry. The company is focused on advancing and developing its Chvaletice Manganese Project in the Czech Republic, as well as exploring an early-stage opportunity to produce battery-grade manganese products in Becancour, Quebec.
