Equinox expands rare earths footprint in Brazil

Equinox Resources (ASX:EQN) has staked an additional 127.9km2 of ground in Minas Gerais, Brazil, expanding its Mata Da Corda Rare Earth Project.

The ground was staked adjacent to the Chumbo prospect, where Equinox previously reported grades of up to 5,024 parts per million total rare earth oxides.

Equinox is continuing a sampling program at the Mata Da Corda Project and expects to receive the initial results in July.

The company is also finalising plans for a maiden drilling program comprising reverse circulation and auger drilling.

Results from the sampling program will help define drill targets.

The Mata Da Corda Rare Earth Project now spans around 975km2. The Ministry of Mines and Energy’s Geological Service of Brazil carried out a geological survey of potential areas for rare earths and identified the Mata da Corda region as particularly prospective.
