Critical Resources reports ‘very encouraging’ sulphide intercepts at depth at Halls Peak

Critical Resources (ASX: CRR) has announced ‘very encouraging’ massive, semi-massive and disseminated sulphides from their current diamond drilling campaign at the Gibsons Prospect within the Halls Peak Base Metals Project in NSW.

The assay results have returned a depth-of-mineralisation previously undiscovered at Halls Peak, with hits reporting up to 56.28g/t of silver between 56.2m and 59.8m downhole, along with other various ‘significant’ hits between 131.05 – 134.55m in hole 09 including:

  • 3.6m @ 15.06% Zn, 8.38% Pb, 0.69% Cu, 37.51g/t Ag, 0.09g/t Au from 56.2m downhole; including
    • 1.6m @ 22.51% Zn, 13.21% Pb, 1.04% Cu, 56.28g/t Ag, 0.10g/t Au
  • 3.5m @ 3.11% Zn, 0.87% Pb, 0.12% Cu, 6.68g/t Ag, 0.03g/t Au from 131.05m downhole; including
    • 0.7m @ 6.61% Zn, 1.82% Pb, 0.20% Cu, 13.50g/t Ag, 0.03g/t Au

The company also notes that DHEM surveys conducted at Hole 09 have identified targets that indicate potential for further sulphide mineralisation extending up to 100m away at a depth of 50m.

Commenting on the results, Critical Resources Managing Director Alex Biggs said, “Hole 09 assays further demonstrate the potential of the Halls Peak system. As the drill program develops we are beginning to develop a clearer thesis on what Halls Peak represents and see the asset as potentially transformational to the company and its shareholders.”

CRR believes that these new-found results provide further potential for the discovery of further massive sulphide lodes both laterally and at depth for the Halls Peak project.

Assay results are also currently pending for chalcopyrite mineralisation within hole 011a with further results expected from holes 02, 04 and 2A.

The Halls Peak Project is located approximately 45km south-east of Armidale, NSW, with Critical Resources owning 100% of exploration license EL4474 and 55% of exploration license EL7679. The two licenses cover all known areas of mineralisation with a total area circumference of 132km².

The project area comprises historic mines and prospects including Gibsons, Sunnyside, Firefly, Faints, Khans Creek, Keys and Mickey Mouse, with primary exploration being focused at Gibsons and Sunnyside.

The company notes that it awaits completion of the current diamond drilling campaign at Halls Peak, and views these new-found results as potentially transformational.
