Kingsgate Consolidated’s (ASX:KCN) Thai subsidiary Akara Resources continues to intersect gold, showing that the Chatree Gold Mine’s prospects has “high” exploration potential.
Drilling focused on three prospects called Chalawan, Kumpee, and B-R through May and June, and then moved to the Nok Kaeo prospect in early June. The program comprised 34 holes for 3,372m.
Results at Chalawan confirmed continuity of a gently west-dipping mineralised zone and also extended mineralisation to the west, which will be further assessed in upcoming field campaigns.
Kingsgate, which has a market capitalisation of $407.24 million, reports Chalawn results of 2m @ 2.09 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 8m @ 1.33g/t gold.
At Kumpee drilling confirmed that the mineralised zone is connected to the B-R prospect, returning 19m @ 0.41g/t gold; and 2m @ 5.31g/t gold
Meanwhile, at the B-R prospect, drilling delineated and extended the mineralised zone to the east and west.
Some of the results include 38m @ 0.86g/t gold, including 3m @ 4.05g/t gold.
Drilling at Nok Kaeo also showed gold mineralisation is associated with quartz veining containing 2-5% chalcopyrite and sphalerite.
Drillhole 7943RC intersected 16m @ 3.19g/t gold, including 2m @ 10.65g/t gold.
The Chatree Gold Mine is located in central Thailand, about 280km north of Bangkok.
