Canuc Resources reports East Sudbury drill results

Canuc Resources (TSX-V:CDA) has provided new updates on the company’s East Sudbury Project, a project spanning 20,078 hectares, centred about 20km northeast of the Sudbury Mining District spanning four subparallel fault structures that host gold and copper mines.

Canuc notes that the project is interpreted to be related to mineral systems that can form IOCG and associated critical minerals and precious metals deposits.

The project includes the Timmins Creek, McLaren Lake, Mount Aetna, and Washagami Lake fault zones.

Timmins Creek is the westernmost fault zone on the property, and includes the historical Scadding Gold Mines and other gold-cobalt-copper occurrences along the interpreted structure that includes a strong breccia zone and highly anomalous cobalt-gold mineralisation.

Canuc has also initiated drill testing on the Glade Area, a target with three distinct zones of gold and critical minerals that lies around 1km south of the historical Scadding Gold Mines. Exploration work is currently in progress across two target areas: North Pit and the East-West Pit.

In Glade Area Zone 1, mineralisation is associated with quartz-carbonate veining. All four holes intersected zones of elevated gold values. Hole AG-26-144 intersected 11.4 grams per tonne gold over a 0.8m interval.

In Glade Area Zone 2, gold mineralisation is characterised by quartz-carbonate veins within a limestone unit. Chalcopyrite mineralisation has also been identified.

Key results include:

  • Hole AG-26-146 — 1.79g/t gold over a 7.9m, including 1m of 6.18g/t gold
  • Hole AG-26-148 — 8.99g/t gold over a 9.2m

Mineralisation in both Glade Area Zone 2 intersections is contained within a chlorite-matrix breccia with associated sulphides including iron, copper, nickel, and cobalt, in addition to scattered disseminated iron oxides, specifically magnetite.

Canuc is still awaiting the results from two additional holes in the Glade Area.

Canuc Resources is a junior resource company advancing its wholly owned East Sudbury Project, spanning 20,078 hectares. The project is interpreted to be related to a mineral system that can form IOCG and affiliated critical and precious mineral deposits.
