Canada Nickel (TSX-V:CNC) has reported what it says are the ‘highest-grade’ nickel results to date from drilling at its Reid Nickel Sulphide Project in Ontario, Canada.
Hole REI26-92A intersected 4.5m @ 1.01% nickel (Ni) from 511.5m within 43.5m @ 0.54% Ni from 510m. The intervals sit within a broader result of 576.6m @ 0.29% Ni from 26.4m, including 221.6m @ 0.33% Ni from 381.4m.
The second hole, REI26-90B, returned 801.4m @ 0.26% Ni from 41.6m.
True widths have not been determined, with all reported lengths representing downhole measurements.
Canada Nickel has released assays for the first two holes in a nine-hole program designed to infill previous drill sections. The company says the drilling is intended to bring prospective zones into inferred and indicated mineral resource categories.
CEO Mark Shelby says the company looks forward to continuing progressing our pipeline of projects.
“These latest higher-grade results at Reid not only underscore the potential of Reid but the broader potential of our entire Timmins Nickel District,” Selby says.
The Reid project is located about 39km northwest of Timmins and covers a serpentinised ultramafic complex comprising mainly dunite and minor peridotite. According to Canada Nickel, its geophysical footprint is about 2.5 times larger than that of the company’s flagship Crawford Nickel-Cobalt Sulphide Project.
A mineral resource published in January 2026 comprises 870 million tonnes (Mt) @ 0.23% Ni in the indicated category, containing 2Mt of nickel. The inferred resource stands at 1.45 billion tonnes @ 0.22% Ni, containing 3.2Mt of nickel.
Results from the remaining seven holes have yet to be reported.
